Canada attracts Indian travellers with its natural beauty, multicultural cities and large Indian community. To visit as a tourist, you need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), also called a Canada visitor visa.

How to apply

  1. Create an account on the official IRCC portal and fill the online application.
  2. Upload your documents and pay the visa and biometrics fees.
  3. Give biometrics at a visa application centre after receiving the instruction letter.
  4. Submit your passport when requested and wait for the decision.

Documents checklist

  • Valid passport and previous passports
  • Recent photograph as per specifications
  • Bank statements, ITR and salary slips
  • Employment letter or business proof
  • Travel plan, and an invitation letter if visiting family
  • Proof of ties to India such as property, family or job
Expert tip: Write a clear letter of explanation describing your travel purpose, who is paying and your plans to return. It helps the officer understand your application quickly.

Validity and processing

A visitor visa can be issued for up to 10 years or until one month before your passport expires. Each stay is usually up to 6 months. Processing times change often, so always check the current timeline on the IRCC website before you plan your trip.

A complete, well-organised application gives you the best chance of approval. Our consultants can review your profile and prepare your file before submission.
